Did you know that The Jackie Speaks Radio Show originated in August 2010 at Urban Latino Radio one day a week and it is now on TWO DAYS a week thanks to our listeners locally, across the U.S., and Internationally? We are quickly expanding and hope to have more air time soon, every week our ratings get higher and our listeners continue to demonstrate their appreciation and participate in our topics and social blurbs. Our guests continue to bring forth exclusive content Artist, DJ, and Business wise and it keeps getting BETTER!

Jackie Speaks aka Jackie da Model began what we can call an "internship" that turned in her favor at ULR in the summer of 2009 with a live mix show called The PreGame Show with DJ Abrupt, host- Mr. Light, and co host/artist Big Sence. After about 4 months she was offered a permanent co-host position with "La Esquina Radio Show" Hosted by Tony Delavora, music by DJ Super Star Boogie as well as the opportunity to blog for urban latino radio's web site. Jackie continued to sharpen her media skills and strengthen her hosting game as time went on. In summer of 2010 La Esquina Radio Show's host left on an endeavor outside of ULR. At this time Jackie Speaks (JDM) was offered a show of her own and a chance to grow even more as a Host/Personality/Blogger at the station. Jackie partnered up with the DJ from La Esquina Radio Show forming dynamic duo "Jackie Speaks and DJ Super Star Boogie" on the "Jackie Speaks Radio Show". This year many commitments and projects have stirred up a busy schedule for all at ULR. The Jackie Speaks Show has brought on a new male co-host GUESS WHO! Yes, an old colleague Mr. Light to join the show on a hosting and event level. The show anticipates a wider audience now that we will add a sports twist and some more "manly thoughts" as well as "Jackie who speaks 247!" which we are all familiar with (The unfiltered thoughts of a Geek turned model). We are bringing back the controversial GUY vs GIRL conversations that were HOT on the pre-game show and of course everyone is welcome to join the conversation when we are live!.

Jackie to this day has gotten the chance to interview many up and coming as well as established walks of talent thanks to all who helped her in the journey of radio. She will continue to climb the ladder of success as a Host and Model, never forgetting where she came from and where she is about to go!.

Today I spent the day with my Grandparents, hermana and neices…….

We ate sandwhiches and drank coffee, (Buestelo of course) there was laughter and even dancing before 1pm. Eventually my Gran took out photos and began telling me stories of her life. She is in her golden years and I know that she is yearning to leave her stories behind and I yearn to keep them forever. She shared pictures of herself and those of my great uncles that I had never seen before. I heard stories of bravery, happiness and even ones of grief. It was amazing to connect with the energy of the past and of the present.

And the show also goes on for Lopez - the singer/actress is throwing herself into work by jetting to the Ukraine to perform at a wedding on Tuesday. But the romantic atmosphere won't be too hard for Lopez to handle - she's reportedly being paid $1 million for the gig.

RIHANNA SKIMPY OUTFIT FOR BARBADOS ANNUAL CELEBRATION

Rihanna brought her show on the road yesterday, quite literally.

The 23-year-old singer, who just completed the North American leg of her "LOUD" tour, managed to spend some time at home in Barbados for the annual Kadooment Day celebration, which commemorates the end of the harvest season.

Sporting a jewel-encrusted bikini, fishnets, elaborate red garter belts and plenty of flashy jewelry, Rihanna, who serves as an official tourism ambassador for Barbados, danced on a float and with members of the crowd.
The superstar was willing to let fans get up close and personal, even allowing one male onlooker to come up behind her and dance closely.

Despite the rain that started during the parade, Rihanna seemed to have a fantastic time. The singer tweeted, "My home, my country, my people....BARBADOS!!!"

While in her home country, Rihanna also managed to get in a little shopping.
The day after the Kadooment Day celebration, the singer -- dressed down in a maxi dress and oversized sunglasses --was spotted with an entourage of family and friends trying on jewelry at Crown of Light.

Rihanna (born Robyn Rihanna Fenty) was raised in Saint Michael, Barbados, where she grew up poor -- but with big dreams to become a singer.

While in primary school, she formed a singing group with two of her classmates.

In 2005, she left high school and signed with Def Jam Records. In August of that year, she released her first single, "Pon de Replay," which shot to No. 2 on the Billboard charts.

ust a day of being signed to Columbia Records and newbie, Kreayshawn, is stirring up controversy. When the East Oakland native spoke to Complex last month, May, she shared her thoughts on Nicki Minaj and her message.
"No disrespect to [Nicki Minaj] because she's got talent. She's got an image. But when it comes to inspiring young women, her message is to be a Barbie-to be plastic, to be fake, to all have blonde hair," Kreayshawn told Complex.

Yesterday, June 8, Kreayshawn took time to speak with Billboard.com's The Juice on her comments about Nicki Minaj.

"I'm not hating on anybody. I'm not coming for anybody's neck. I say one thing about Nicki Minaj that's not a diss at all and you have Nicki Minaj fans barking at me," Kreayshawn says. "I love Nicki's thing, she's independent and a powerful woman."

Kreayshawn continued to speak on the difference between her movement and those of other female artists. "I think it's important for different female voices to be heard. I'm representing for something that hasn't been said yet or [hasn't been said] in a long time [which is] to be yourself, be creative. I don't want people to be like 'I'm going to dress like Kreayshawn,' or 'I'm going to do my hair like Kreayshawn.' I want people to be different and follow their own lane."

M BONE OF CALI SWAG DISTRICT MURDERED

Rap group Cali Swag District's M-Bone was shot and killed late last night. While details have been kept brief, according to an Inglewood police spokesperson, the 22 year old group member sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head while sitting in his vehicle on Le Brea Avenue. M-Bone was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Fellow group member Smoove expressed his condolences in a recent tweet. "Ma life changed drastically in the. Blink of an eye rip m-bone".
Cali Swag District made a major impact on the Hip-Hop market last year thanks to their catchy single "Teach Me How to Dougie." The track set off a rap sensation with the tune instructing fans how to perform the dance craze that sparked millions of followers. M-Bone was infamously known as one of the group's prime dancers along with members DJ C-Smoove, Yung and JayAre.

HOW THE SONG CAME TO BE;

"A friend of ours went to Texas Southern[University] . He picked up on the[Dougie] dance[and] he learned how to do it[the way] they do it in Texas," C-Smoove recently told MTV News. "He came back like, 'Y'all should make a song about this dance.' So we made it happen. We went in the booth and we tore it down."

Jorge Garcia, 38

The Show: In the new FOX series Alcatraz, a sci-fi series produced by J.J. Abrams (Lost, Fringe), Garcia will play “the world’s foremost expert” of the high-security prison who joins an investigation into the sudden reappearance of prisoners and guards that have mysteriously disappeared from the prison 30 years prior.

As a female i am always with my guards up...especially with the creepy people that linger in areas like union square at night, and or on subway. It doesn't matter how much you THINK you can handle getting around in NYC you should always take precaution and travel safely and or with people you trust.

Addicts flocking to the drug clinics that surround Union Square Park have created a "lawless city within a city" where they've been overdosing on drugs and committing crimes ranging from stabbings to exposing themselves, sources told The Post
Spurred by community outrage, the NYPD is stepping up patrols and the private partnership that helps run the park is hiring off duty officers.
The problem centers around what locals call Methadone Alley, a bench-lined path along Union Square East.
The section is named after its inhabitants who spill into the park after visiting the outpatient drug treatment clinics where they get their methadone fixes, said a law-enforcement source said.

'IT'S A HORROR SHOW': A man dozes and drools on a bench in Union Square Park as a pair of local residents do their best to ignore him.

"The public is not safe. It's a lawless city within a city," said Geoffrey Croft of New York City Park Advocates.
"It's a horror show that's been going on far too long."
Preschool teacher Jenn Murphy, 29, said the park has gotten so bad, she now hesitates to bring her kids.
"It's a little shady at times," said Murphy, complaining about low-lifes who hang out near the playground.
"The language they use . . . and sometimes they try to talk to the kids."
Cops have made at least 84 drug-related arrests in and around the park this year. Some recent frightening incidents have included:
* A 28-year-old man was attacked and stabbed three times in the back by a knife-wielding 50-year-old man screaming racial slurs on April 22. The victim survived and the attack is being investigated as a possible hate crime.
* Cops busted an accused perv exposing himself in a woman's bathroom on May 8.
* A woman in her 30s was found unconscious and not breathing near East 16th Street after suffering an overdose on March 19, according to a law-enforcement source.
* A 13-year-old boy's iPad was stolen out of his backpack.
* A 56-year-old man was busted in the park last Wednesday after cops caught him with more than two ounces of marijuana and magic mushrooms.
Parkgoers say the clean-up efforts are way overdue.
"This is horrendous," said a 36-year-old woman sitting on a bench at the dog run with her pooch.
"All the drug addicts. There is a general rowdiness. You feel unsafe, especially when it gets dark out," she said.
But she also vowed she wouldn't be driven out of the park.
"It's New York," she said. "You deal with it."

We could not think of anyone easier, breezier or more beautiful than Colombian actress Sofia Vergara so we can't say we're in the least bit surprised that she has been named the newest face of COVERGIRL cosmetics!

She just tweeted her big announcement: "My BIG news!! So happy to be the new @covergirl !!!#spon"

The Modern Family actress and mother, 38, is currently shooting her first ever campaign for the cosmetics company for advertisements that will debut in January 2012. She will be representing some brand new products that Cover Girl is introducing.

“I have loved playing with makeup ever since I was a little girl," Vergara said in a statement. “And now, I am so honored to join the line up of extraordinary women that are and have been COVERGIRLs, and to be a part of a brand that is so committed to helping women look and feel beautiful."

Sofia has been having an amazing year! She was nominated for a Golden Globe and Emmy for her work on her hit TV comedy, was named one of People magazine's 50 most beautiful people and has been recognized by both the Hollywood Reporter and Billboard as one of the most infuential Latinas in Hollywood.

This navy blue school boy vintage blazer paired with a striped t-shirt underneath it and long wide-leg khaki pants with beige pumps is a daytime look for when I have to run errands and attend meetings, but still want to look cute. To add more fuego and not be so casual add a red stiletto!

This is a sexy nautical evening look that you can rock out on the town with your friends or with your boo. I wore a long-sleeved striped blue and white t-shirt with long, but really high-waisted black pants to add a sexy edge and make my waist appear smaller. And, of course, I wore classic black stilettos. This look is easy, breezy and will make you the center of attention! Try it with a smoky eye and let your hair down.

The third look is similar to the evening look, but if you want a bit more comfort, wear an all-white blazer like this Mariniere one I have on that has a black outlined collar and gold sailor anchor buttons that just give you a touch of nautical without going overboard. If you want this look for the daytime, wear it with long white wide-leg pants and beige or red espadrilles a la Ralph Lauren.

Selena Quintanilla-Perez was a beautiful and talented, Mexican American singer-songwriter born in the 70′s. She was named the “top Latin artist of the 90′s” and “Best selling Latin artist of the decade” by Billboard. During her short-lived career she managed to get fourteen top-ten singles on the Top Latin charts.

People say she’s the latina version of Madonna. The beautiful songstress sold over 21 million albums worldwide! Unfortunately, at the young age of 23, and at the height of her success, she was murdered by the president of her fan club, Yolanda Saldivar on March 31, 1995. It's been 16 years since and I still can’t believe someone wanted to murder the humble and talented artist.

Two weeks after her death, George W. Bush, then governor of Texas, declared her birthday “Selena Day” in the state of Texas. Warner Bros. even produced Selena, a box-office hit movie about her life which starred Jennifer Lopez in 1997.

She will always be remembered and if she was still alive, she would have turned 40 today.

Her heart-wrenching ballads, beautiful voice, charisma, and natural beauty made her shine. But what I loved the most was how humble and proud she was to be a Latina. She was always true to her fans and never turned them away. Selena was never seen acting like she was better than anyone else. She was what a true star should be and a great role model.

5 THINGS YOU CAN LEARN FROM JAY-Z'S CAREER

(CareerBuilder) -- I recently came across Zack O'Malley Greenburg's book "Empire State of Mind: How Jay-Z Went from Street Corner to Corner Office." I have to admit that I didn't know if a hip-hop icon had much to teach me (aka a regular worker) about succeeding in our respective fields.

But seeing as career books often begin to sound alike when you read the summaries on the flap, I couldn't pass up this interesting angle. Plus, he's just a good artist.

I didn't doubt Jay-Z was a prime example of success. His picture might as well be next to the Wikipedia entry on "living the dream."

Whether or not you're a fan of his music -- and between "Empire State of Mind" and "Izzo (H.O.V.A.)," you have to like at least one of his tracks -- you can't deny that the man has been able to achieve and exceed his goals.

Jay-Z (née Shawn Corey Carter) has countless hits, co-founded Rocawear clothing, co-owns a basketball team, and was an executive of two different record labels. Oh, and Oprah picked his 2010 autobiography to be one of her favorite things, which is about as coveted an endorsement as you can hope for.

But after reading Greenburg's book, I have to admit I understand why he makes a superb guide for your career, even if you are looking to be an investment banker or grocery store manager instead of a hip hop legend.

If you look at what Jay-Z has done with his career, you might realize that what made him successful is what makes many great leaders successful.

Below are five lessons that I think we can all learn from Jay-Z's career:

1. Find something your passionate about and make it part of your life

What Jay Z did: Jay-Z is a sports enthusiast. He's a proud Yankees fan and he's been a courtside fixture at NBA games for years for The Cavaliers, Knicks and Lakers.

Not content with just being a fan, Jay-Z assembled a team (that included Lebron James) in 2003 to play in Entertainers Basketball Classic (EBC) and then became a co-owner of the New Jersey Nets.

What you can do: Many of us are sports fans, but few of us have the bank account and business savvy to own an NBA team. However, we can find a way to make one of our passions part of our everyday life, even if your interest doesn't fit within your current job.

For example, if you are obsessed with politics but you work at a clothing store, you should leave your opinion of Congress at home. But that doesn't mean you can't start your own political blog or become a contributor to another one.

That way you can immerse yourself in a subject you love and still improve your analytical and writing skills. You never know what will become of your side venture -- maybe a new business opportunity.

Maybe nothing will happen beyond gaining readership, but at least you'll have space where you can indulge your passions.

2. Market yourself

What Jay-Z did: One of the other reasons Jay-Z decided to assemble that basketball team in the EBC? He knew it was great marketing. He branded a bus with the image of a sneaker he designed for Reebok, had the team tour in it, all while his music blared.

And then they'd celebrate at the club he owned in New York. It was his project from top to bottom and he wasn't afraid to promote it.

What you can do: The odds are slim that somebody will walk up to you and say, "Wow, all that great work you do? Unbelievable! Let me offer you this high-paying job that is perfect for you."

Instead, make sure you let your boss know when you perform well. Don't brag, but forward any positive feedback you get from clients or colleagues

If you're looking for a job, piece together an impressive portfolio or résumé. Think about the awards you've won, leadership positions you've held, and references who will speak glowingly about you.

Don't play meek when it comes to finding a new job because employers don't have time to beg you to talk about yourself. Impress them from the beginning. (And if you can afford to plaster your face on the side of a bus, go ahead.)

3. Know when to move on

What Jay-Z did: In 2003, at the peak of his career (up to that point), he decided to retire. Barely 34, Jay-Z felt he couldn't top himself, so he decided to walk away. (That said, he un-retired a few years later, which is something we have criticized before, too. So don't cry "wolf" either.")

What you can do: Jay-Z retired, but most of us don't have that luxury right now. However, if you're just going through the motions and the excitement and passion you once had are lacking, then don't be afraid to look around.

Maybe you need to talk to your boss, find a new job or get into a new industry. Whatever is right for you, make that move. If you're spending 40 hours each week doing a job that bores you, then you're wasting a lot of your life.

You'll be so much happier and more productive if you're interested in what you do.

4. Be willing to shake things up

What Jay-Z did: When Jay-Z took over Def Jam records in 2005, he couldn't believe that the business model hadn't changed for decades, and employees had no incentive to work hard. He wanted to see people trying new things -- taking risks and competing to be more innovative than the other.

So he held a retreat with the employees, told them what he wanted, and then began to transform the organization. Greenburg notes how people were intrigued by the fact that Jay-Z wanted to learn as much as he could about the business.

What you can do: When you're not the boss, you can't revamp the organization. But workers can get the attention of the boss and other leadership by coming forward with new ideas.

If you're the person interacting with customers every day, you know when the process can be improved and what would make your job more efficient and maybe bring the company more money.

Always be respectful, but don't be afraid to be bold once in a while. It can be the only way you stand out sometimes.

5. Manage your private life

What Jay-Z did: Jay-Z and Beyoncé are basically music royalty, and when they began quietly dating, everybody wanted to know about it. Yet, they wouldn't comment on their romance, and even to this day the married couple is tight-lipped about any personal information.

Therefore you hear more about his and her music than about their personal lives, unlike some famous people.

What you can do: You don't need to keep your marriage a secret from your manager, unless you want to, but your weekend partying or marital bickering don't belong at work.

Often, professionals decide to post Facebook photos of their drunken adventures or get into a big fight with a spouse over the phone so that the entire office hears. Suddenly your personal drama overshadows your hard work.

Remember that your professional reputation is a significant factor in promotions, raises and even layoffs. Don't let a killer keg stand undo your years of hard work.

Of course, there are a lot of other things Jay-Z's done right in his career, so I suggest checking out "Empire State of Mind." It's especially refreshing if you're a music fan and/or someone who's not keen on the typical career guides.

More Latinos Being Casted On TV As Hispanics Are A Key Demographic For Retailers & Brands

Three of the four prime time English-language networks received failing grades from The National Hispanic Media Coalition's annual "Network Report Cards" last year. CBS was the only network that received good grades when it came to hiring Latinos. Yet, this year an unparalleled amount of Latinos were casted as leads in pilots with a few more roles to be casted.

It's still unsure how many Latino based pilots will get picked up, but the fact that so many Latinos roles are available now is an indication that networks are realizing how important it is to include Latinos on primetime television. Yes, it could be because the networks want a better "diversity grade" but it may also be because the 2010 census numbers no mienten! (don't lie).

The U.S. Census Bureau reported that by 2015 the U.S. Latino population will grow to 57.7 million which will account for 18% of the total population.
The Nielson Company is a marketing and advertising research conglomerate that gives their clients an understanding of what consumers watch/buy stated that:

"[In] the 2009-10 television season, the number of U.S. Latino TV households grew 2.3% to 12.9 million. In comparison, total TV households grew 0.3% to 114.9 million, African-American TV households grew 0.3% to 14.0 million, and Asian TV households grew 0.8% to 4.7 million."

Think that's crazy? Check out these facts:

U.S. Hispanics are 58% more likely to click on search ads, compared with the general population
This market segment is significantly more likely to recall online ads, particularly video ads, when looking for retail-related information
Six out of 10 made a purchase in a store as a result of seeing online advertisements while researching products — 22% more than the general population
About 86% have high-speed Internet connections at home; and 78% use the Internet as their primary source of information, above TV and friends and family

In 2008, when Moroccan-born producer RedOne (real name: Nadir Khayat) conjoined his globally honed dance sensibilities with Lady Gaga's subversive star power for a string of top 10 hits, the entire industry shifted. Their first hit, "Just Dance," spent 49 weeks on the chart, three of those hovering at No. 1; "Poker Face" was its chart-topping follow-up.

While RedOne's singles for Gaga, including "Bad Romance" and "Alejandro," continued cracking the top 10 into 2010, he was enlisted for flashy synths on Usher's "More" and Enrique Iglesias' "I Like It" -- each cementing the growing demand for spacey, big-room club tracks.

As the American industry catches up to a sound that Europeans perfected a decade ago, RedOne hopes to propel his music forward. The global nature of his upbringing-in Morocco, Sweden, the United States-has helped him understand mass markets worldwide, and right now he's betting on Porcelain Black, a new artist on his imprint 2101 who blends traditional rock with gritty dance beats.

But the ultimate test of RedOne's scope will be his work with U2 -- one of the only groups on the planet bigger than Gaga, with fans equally as fierce -- which he's taking, he says, in a more futuristic direction. If RedOne ends up getting Bono to a rave, the world will indeed be his.

How would you describe your sound?

RedOne: The songwriting is the first thing, before any sound. Musically, I feel like I have no boundaries. I can do rock, disco, dance, whatever. I'm always thinking about a strong melody that travels the world. Before I knew English, I loved melody. That's how the rest of the world knows songs-melody is the universal language. It's so important to me, because they're the consumers, and you want to send a message to their hearts and their souls.

You've been successful with that. But how do you know what people want?

I travel a lot. I'm from Morocco, I lived in Sweden, the U.K., New York. If you're only in America and listen to American radio, you don't know what's going on outside. Traveling to Africa, they know everything that's going on-Moroccan styles, Middle Eastern styles, flamenco from Spain, dance music from Europe, rock music in America and all that. I always loved all kinds of styles so I know what's going on constantly. It's part of [the] job, to know what people like.

European dance styles have never been very big in American pop-until Lady Gaga hit.

All her music is chord progressions that would work with a piano or a guitar, not just a loop doing one straight note. Of course it's a dance vibe that's going to make people move, but [it's about] the song. The first song that really broke was "Just Dance," which was essentially a rock track but with synths instead of guitars. Big drums. The vocals were the melody, with a simple chorus. Thank God we were lucky and it was perfect timing. The moment the public heard it, they bought into it. Big DJs-I'm not going to mention names-come to me and thank me for opening those doors for them. They say, "If it wasn't for you, we'd just be doing remixes. Now we're producers."

And now you're recording with U2. What's your approach with the band's project?

I'm a guitar player, so it was just me and Bono and Edge playing guitar, exchanging melodies. We were just like musicians jamming. I loved it.

What will the album sound like?

We've put down a few ideas, but we don't know how many will end up on there. They have a very special way of working. A song is never done until the day before it comes out almost, so you never know. They're always experimenting, so it's not like, "OK, we're finished." It's still an ongoing process. Bono described [the album as] "futuristic." U2 going sci-fi, or something [laughs]. That's how he described it, but I don't know.

You and Lady Gaga wrote tracks for the new album from Jennifer Lopez, who's a different sort of diva from Gaga. How did that work?

We sat down with her, had dinner and talked about where she is at now, what her image is. The thing that grabbed me is that she said, "I'm a dancer first." And we were like, "Yes, Jennifer Lopez has got to have dance music. She started as a dancer." So of course I had to make her move. She's incredibly happy with her family and her husband, and she's so inspiring-it was easy to make music with her.

What about your musical chemistry with Gaga?

We click. It comes naturally. It comes easy. It's shockingly quick.

Did you really write "Poker Face" in an hour?

Yeah. We hit it on the right spot. It's like, "Hey, this works." But if we come up with different suggestions, we respect each other, both the positive or the negative. We never spend energy on anything. She trusts it if I say, "Oh, maybe this is not the right thing," and vice versa. She would never say it just because. We just have fun.

You didn't do as much for "Born This Way" as you did for "The Fame."

I did three songs-not that much, no. Honestly we were both crazy busy and with me it was sort of like, I did good songs. Whatever I did fulfilled a function on her album. But that felt really enough to me.

You've said you're always looking into the future. Where do you think you'll take it next?

The beautiful thing about music now is that it's not going to go toward one thing. I want to be able to prove that if you go this way, this way and this way, it will work. I always want to bring more freshness to the music.

A popular television and radio DJ was shot to death in Staten Island early Sunday morning, according to New York City police.

Corey McGriff, known to fans as DJ Megatron, died of a gunshot wound to the torso shortly after 2 a.m. The incident is still under investigation and no arrests have been made, police said.

McGriff, 32, was best known for his appearances on the BET's music countdown show, "106 & Park." He had worked for both the show and BET.com since 2006, according to a statement released by the network.

"The BET Networks Family is saddened by the news of the untimely loss of our friend and colleague, Corey 'Megatron' McGriff," the statement said. "We extend our deepest condolence to his family. He will truly be missed."

Rihanna is the cover girl for the April issue of Vogue magazine, and the R&B singer discusses her father's continuous betrayal, accepting her voluptuous body and the pressures of being a role model, among other topics.

On her father, Ronald Fenty, turning his back on her for cash:

"It really makes me question what I have become to my father. Like, what do I even mean to him? …..It's really strange. That's the only word I can think of to describe it, because you grow up with your father, you know him, you are a part of him, for goodness' sakes! And then he does something so bizarre that I can't begin to wrap my mind around it. You hear the horror stories about people going behind people's backs and doing strange things, but you always think, Not my family. My father would never do that to me."

She added:

"That was the first time…..My dad went to the press and just told them a bunch of lies. Because he hadn't talked to me after…that whole thing…. He never called to find out how I was doing, if I was alive, nothing. He just never called. He went straight to the press and got a check. And now he does it again."

On feeling liberated after her assault:

"It actually gave me a lot of liberation. What I mean is, I was able to tap into the personal part of my music. I started to tell stories through my music that were actually my stories. My album before that, there was still a little bit of protection, there was still an innocence to me. And what that time in my life did was kind of wake people up: it's not all bed of roses. My life is like yours.

It made me look at the world in a much bigger way because my life was suddenly superduper magnified; all eyes were on me. I needed that in my life to know how to say, 'F-k off.' To know how to keep my head high even in the worst situations. I keep using the word unapologetic. But there is a freedom that has come with all of that. Where you feel like you don't have to make an excuse for being yourself."

On the pressure of being a role model:

"Pop icons nowadays are very fearless, unapologetic, edgy, and it's a lot for people to swallow sometimes. Because people still think pop star equals role model, but it's almost impossible to walk that line. I've struggled with it and have come to the conclusion that I can live my life for me."

Clocking in at nearly seven and a half minutes, "Born This Way" is more of a high-fashion short film than a conventional music video. As the clip opens, Gaga declares, "This is the manifesto of Mother Monster."

She continues, describing the race she births as one "which bears no prejudice, no judgement, but boundless freedom." Gaga's opening narration sets the clip up as a battle between good and evil, with herself at the literal center of the fight.

The sci-fi-inspired video was directed by Gaga, alongside her longtime choreographer Laurieann Gibson and fashion photographer Nick Knight. In a nod to French fashion house Thierry Mugler, which now boasts Gaga's own stylist Nicola Formichetti as its creative director, the Mother Monster is shown with the label's newest muse, "Zombie Boy." Gaga is dressed and inked skeleton-style to match the highly-tattooed model, whom she dances and flirts with throughout the "Born This Way" video. "Zombie Boy," whose real name is Rick Genest, also appeared in a recent short film for Theirry Mugler, which featured an exclusive Gaga remix.

In addition to inspiration from Mugler, similarities to classic Madonna videos, most specifically "Vogue" and "Borderline," can be found within the "Born This Way" clip. These Madonna references join a growing list of comparisons being made between the pop icon and Gaga's "Born This Way." which many claim sounds much like Madonna's "Express Yourself."

"Born This Way" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 two weeks ago, making it the 1,000th song to top the chart in its over 52-year history. G told Billboard.com that the milestone is "a tremendous honor.

"It's quite eclectic," said Gaga. "It ranges from 'Born This Way' being very light to the rest of the album becoming quite darker. I in jest say that 'Born This Way' is the marijuana to the heroins of the album, the ultimate intense intoxication of the record. It's an analogy."

New Tell All Book About Tito Puente "Mambo Diablo"

Joe Conzo was a very close friend of el maestro, Tito Puente, for almost 40 years. He was his publicist and personal historian of "El Rey" who rose to international fame which began in the streets of East Harlem.

Conzo was aquainted with "the very private" Tito Puente. He did drugs, liked the ladies a little too much, and was a loyal follower of the Santeria religion.

He shares in a new tell-all book on the life and legacy of the six time Grammy award winner. The recently released book, "Mambo Diablo: My Journey with Tito Puente," was written in collaboration with journalist David A. Perez.

He will be signing copies of his book February 14th at 7pm at the musical event being held at the Harbor Conservatory, 1 E. 104th St. at Fifth Avenue. Bandleaders Louis Bauzó and José Madera Jr. will perform.

I recently posted regarding Charlie Sheen being rushed to a hospital after a night of partying with a few porn stars and some cocaine! Heres the update:

Charlie Sheen is being sent to an undisclosed rehabilitation center. The sitcom Two and a Half Men will be put on a production standstill. The coke in the briefcase was definitely shared between himself and the porn stars ranging from 19 to about 23 years old.

Charlie sent a message to a gossip columnist saying "People don't seem to get it...guy cant have a great time and do his job also?"

Charlie's family fears that he's going to end up killing himself.

The drama continues ...sheeesshhhh ....

Actor Charlie Sheen 45 was rushed to the hospital with severe abdominal pain after a night with a couple of porn stars and alleged drug use at his Beverly Hills home. Many of you don't know this but Charlie Sheen is actually Carlos Estevez he is a Latino in the hollywood world who like many changed their name. Charlie is very unpredictable and it sometimes gets in the way of his work. At first I read an article with a headline "SHEEN IS RUSHED TO HOSP" like wow did these girls give him a heart attack or what?.. then they mentioned a briefcase full of cocaine. Heehhhhh???? We all have heard that Charlie Sheen has abused alcohol and drugs and also had marital issues but this story is pushing the thin line between The Charlie we know on "Two and a Half Men" sitcom who is always drinking and chasing women...and the Charlie Sheen off screen who does things on his own time. Nobody knows if that Coke was his or theirs.. and it could have been both or one/other. He is going through a lot, and I guess he is at the point in his life where he knows just how far he can go. To confirm the abdominal pain was stemming from a hiatal hernia!.

Did any of these girls including Porn Star Kacey Jordan 22 over dramatize the story or overwhelm him with drugs (knowing hed get sick or in trouble) just for 15 minutes of fame because they know that the media is on him like white on rice?

Does Charlie even care anymore about his image and how many times they threatened to end the sitcom he stars in "Two and a Half Men"?

Is this all an attack on how he is dealing with his personal stress of past 3 divorces (1st wife Donna Peele, 2nd Wife Denise Richards, 3rd Wife Brooke Mueller) and other issues and or how he's celebrating Single Life with Sex, Porn Stars, Escorts, and drugs till its his time to go??

First of all I was already upset when Sammy Sosa did it, Michael Jackson did it, and a few others..my take on this is that white people tan in the sun crossing the street it happens naturally..dark complexion people dont just lighten up in the winter so NO its not the same thing. As for material tans-thats what I will call them (sun tan stores, and booths) that damages your skin...so obviously dont you think bleach damages and has side effects as well.

Peep the side effects of tanning:

A tan, whether you get it on the beach, in a bed, or through incidental exposure, is bad news, any way you acquire it. Tans are caused by harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun or tanning lamps, and if you have one, you’ve sustained skin cell damage. No matter what you may hear at tanning salons, the cumulative damage caused by UV radiation can lead to premature skin aging (wrinkles, lax skin, brown spots, and more), as well as skin cancer.

Now the side effects of Bleaching:

Hydroquinone is the only skin bleaching chemical recognized by the FDA. Skin bleaching creams may have different percentages of Hydroquinone in their compound, but any skin bleaching cream with over 2% may cause side effects. The most common side effect of skin bleaching is skin irritation and a burning sensation. The itching or stinging of the skin should be mild and temporary, with some reddening of skin where cream is applied. Other side effects when severe include crusting and discoloration and more..

EVA LONGORIA A FRAUD?

Via "Latin Gossip" Eva Longoria is in a legal mess. Beso, the Las Vegas nightspot she invested in, is bankrupt and now her business partner is suing her for fraud! (this is crazy). He claims that Eva loaned him one million dollars with the expectation that he would pay back over 4 million in two years. He now thinks that isn’t ethical. It is a big return and since things have turned sour, he is now suing her for 4 million dollars himself. (Or maybe he just doesn't know how to run a business and is attacking her for his losses?) Hmmmm I wonder.

Chelsea Handler Tweets "I dont know why anyone thinks I would never date a rapper"

Is she pranking her fans or is she fueling the flames of existing romance rumors? Talk show host Chelsea Handler has shared a photo with fans that shows her in a compromising position with rapper-actor-entrepreneur 50 Cent. The photo is on display on her WhoSay account and posted on social networking sites including Facebook and Twitter. Though the photo is slightly blurry, it shows 50 Cent (whose birth name is Curtis Jackson) on top of Handler with the couple smiling and their eyes toward the camera. Handler's face is slightly obscured because she is kissing the rapper's left cheek. The photo caption reads, "I don't know why anyone thinks I would ever date a rapper."

They were first spotted together in October at a New Orleans Bar. "Its more of a hook up thing whenever they are in the same town" a source says about Chelsea and Curtis.

Flirting much? Lets just say their rumored romance is like the legend of Bigfoot or like the idea that you an die from mixing pop rocks and soda, its definatley unsubstantiated but intriging nontheless, is it a fling thing, or just a another publicity stunt thats so much fun.... what do you think? leave a comment !

T.I. 's wife Tiny tried ..well did..give him a hand job on a visit to him in jail this week. Tiny & T.I. were not only interrupted but reprimanded immediately by guards. T.I. was sent to a higher security area... Tiny is a ride or die b*tch I suppose, she has been locked up and released herself shouldn't she know better than to jeopardize the level of lockdown her man is on? Either she was making sure that everyone knew that T.I.P. belonged to her (no pun intended) lol, or she's just plain crazy in love.. sheeshh let's give her a HAND!! "I didnt mean to, but I did this song with THE DREAM and its really fun I hope you like it" Kim says as her intro at the party.

what does she mean by saying she didn't mean to? We all know Kim means to do everything!! The song Turn it up features a steady dance beat with an r&b/pop production.

Kim had previously stated that she fears singing and is working very hard to overcome it.

LOW SNOW BLOWS!

So as you know we recently had a crazy snow blizzard leaving many of the 5 boroughs snowed in and under with over 2 feet of snow. People were at a standstill with public transportation and also roadways. I saw things I never thought I would see. Bloomberg has really done it this time!!!.

The following are things I heard and are indeed true facts:

A man was found dead in the snow in Staten Island by another man who was shoveling. The man had apparently had a heart attack and was then covered in snow.

A baby died because an ambulance took too long to get to him and also because 911 took too long to get the call.

A man who attempted suicide off a building actually lived thanks to all the garbage that was not being collected by the dept of sanitation! He landed on a garbage bag and damaged his spine but survived the fall.

A riot and several fights (all at the same time) broke out on the D train in Brooklyn due to irate passengers once the trains were up and running. They were running once an hour and then packed to capacity so every train that did show up was followed by fist fights and impatience.

Angry home owners in Brooklyn and I'm sure other boroughs were fuming because not only did the city not plow the snow for 3-5 days, but on top of that when they finally did they tossed all the snow from the street right back onto the cleaned sidewalks! Oh yeah..and back on top of the garbage that STILL hasn't been picked up which Bloomberg expects homeowners to have dug out.

Luckily we had some strange heat wave on Saturday and by today alot of the snow has melted and or been plowed away. We are left with ice patches and some snow and slush...and umm the garbage (I hope they get it tomorrow because it looks like a fort along the curb!)

Adult snow day for NYC

This snow storm is no joke. Beginning Sunday December 26th into today the heavy rapid snowfall has accumulated to nearly 2 feet causing many issues. All Nyc MTA trains are currently suspended in service except the G, S, L trains as of 6am. Stay posted for changes in service at www.mta.info

Unless my boss decides to drive to work..and take me with her ill be home watching movies and sippin hot chocolate! I may even make a snowman!

The Holiday Party for PNC and Urban Latino on Thursday December 23rd was a great success. All the DJ's involved from both stations rocked the party. All of our friends and staff were, and I made some new friends too! How funny is it when someone says "are you jackie da model"? "i follow you on twitter" that is truely classic ;)

A live performance by ACK (All City Kings) kept the vibe up tempo as well. There were special giveaways and much networking throughout the night. So it has come to my attention that people tend to get together for the long term during the winter, and have casual flings in the spring time. I asked a few different people their opinions on this observation. We all know that the Winter is too cold to be outdoors and guys are too lazy to run around "having fun" in less than 20 degrees. Spring is a time where everyone is enjoying the weather and also activities outdoors and therefore have more of a chance to meet people consistently and date or decide if they want to just "chill".

Weighing the pro's and con's of winter dating and spring dating have led me to the conclusion that making excuses for wanting to commit or run wild tend to come from those who are unsure of themselves. If you can't trust yourself to behave in nice weather what makes you think you will in the cold?. If you want to be with someone exclusively it doesn't matter the weather, it matters who that person is and what they can offer you. Do they complete you?, Do they understand you?, Can they keep you satisfied? Those should be the ideal reasons, not "I want to stay in and cuddle because its cold so I need a cuddle buddy" or "Lets go speed dating in the spring".

That's the equivalent of the date you bring everywhere vs. the indoor boo. The date you bring everywhere may have won the respect and the honor of meeting friends and family. The indoor boo is most likely only good for sex or companionship. NUFF SAID! Get it together ladies and gents!!!

I am a good friend of Alex Baez and I have watched him go through a trial of emotion upon the discovery of his father’s diagnosed Cancer. Alex guest hosted with me the day after the news was delivered on my radio show “The Jackie Speaks Show”on www.urbanlatinoradio.com for my very first show (of my own). We were each others support.

“The Radio Show was therapeutic” said Alex Baez.

He is a constant reminder to myself and others that a good friend is hard to come by and even harder to keep. I value his advice and his character and if you knew him so would you. He is what I can call one of my mentors in this industry, a man that gives and asks for nothing in return to many for the love of his career. Saturday was the Athletes vs Cancer charity event at the Maserati dealership hosted by LA Laker Matt Barnes. The night was beautiful, not too cold, cool enough for me to wear that short little mini I was dying to put on!

Arrived to the venue, walked right in and the night began with a bang... literally. The car that was to pick up model, Melyssa Ford was in an accident on the way to her. So I had to get right into damage control and find a way to get her to the event asap. Someone PLEASE show me to the bar! Not yet... recording artist Dan Godlin and his manager went to York ave instead of York St. and were late for the red carpet. No worries, I got this...
Melyssa gets there, Johnny Nunez on deck making sure he gets his best shot, Dan Godlin arrives, better late than never. Red carpet done... time for some champagne!

The night consisted of an open bar, hors d'oeuvres and good music, not to mention a few cuties too! Matt Barnes, Derek Fisher, Tyson Beckford, Lisa Evers and Melyssa Ford mingled with the eclectic crowd that ranged from wall street suits to hipster bloggers. The night ended with a nice little dinner at Cafeteria ... no crabcakes though.

Friday was absolutely one of the best nights I've had in a very long time! I went to the Usher/Trey Songz and Miguel concert at the Prudential Center with my best friend, I had tickets from one of my other good friends, Jason from Sony/Jive, so I wasnt sure exactly where our seats would be , but I was just grateful to be there (I LOVE Trey and Miguel!)... I picked my bestie up in Hoboken and we were on our way. Get there, go to Will Call and they tell us they dont have our tickets... SAY WHAT?! OH HELLLLL NO! *Dials Jason's number*... As always, Jason comes to the rescue, get our tickets and we head straight to the Belvedere lounge. *Bottoms Up*! We had pretty good seats, good enough for me to get dazed by Trey's nicely built in 6 pack. Girls were going WILD, their men looking frustrated, for that very moment I was thankful for being single... just for that moment!

Treys set is over... intermission, time to revisit the bar. Shortly there after here comes my connect with Pit passes... now... if you all dont know what Pit passes are... I feel sorry for you! Ha, no, just playing, but they are passes to literally just stand right next to the stage, on the floor behind all the computers/sound equipment,etc. Trey had already left the building, but I was able to chat it up with Miguel.

Here come Usher... floating in the air over hundreds of screaming ladies who swear that he specifically heard THEM. He had a great set, just wish he wouldve had more ballads. Usher also showed that he has been working those Ninja Turtle abs! NICE!

Well hello there! I have been out and about on the scene and the latest is that there is a TV Pilot going on called "Back in the mix" by an unannounced production team + network and I was invited to partake in the viewing and participation alongside BPS Productions TEAM JDM! We take over wherever we go! but anyway..

Back in the Mix taping was held in PACE college. They intend to tape weekly and include a DJ Mix, a performance, a hip hop history segment, and live interviews.

They began with a DJ Battle between Jon Swan and DJ Steel. Jon Swan was very animated and creative in selection. DJ Steel was very skilled in the art of DJ'ing including traditional scratching and mixing. The winner was DJ Steel for cleaner cuts and better DJ Skills, but DJ Jon Swan made an impact and people respect his DJ Game just the same. They said Jon Swan's creativity level was higher. I agree I also feel his appearance along with body language and personality gave off an animated vibe that caught the viewers attention!.

How do you feel about your impact on the game?:

EPMD: "We didn't know there were producers, we went out on RUN's tour at 17 years old and learned about our sound being different", "Run said we had something and we took off after that"..

How do you feel about people looking up to you?:

EPMD: "We like it, HIP-HOP is our life", "We took the independent route, no middle man involved"

EPMD ON NEW MUSIC: "We told our kids if they follow our footsteps, dont compete with new music..", quote: you cant "bite" or make same record with same content you have to be original.

A performance from a member of the 1st Hip Hop act to go on the Jay Leno Show, and is still relevant 20 years later.. Dres of Black Sheep!

His new album is called "Black Pool of genius" in which you can hear his latest single just released titled "Forever Lovin You". As usual Dres performed an ill set.. with my personal favorites as we all chanted along .. "Engine engine numba 9 on the new york transit line.. if my train falls off the tracks pick it up pick it up pick it up bounce back!!!!!!!"

So whats up with Dres from Black Sheep (my notes of his interview):
Dres has been a busy bee, the company KIA used his song for a car commercial and that broke the ice for this album Black Pool of Genious. When asked about Mr. Long, Dres said that he is a family man that now lives in Florida however he will be joining him for the 20 year anniversary tour along with Naughty by Nature. Dres Music was always distributed, promoted, and marketed by himself. His comment on that was that if you belong to a major label you are basically a recipient of a high loan with high interest. If you invest in yourself more and your in it for the right reasons like the love of music then it will work for you to be in this industry. Dres is very proud that 20 years later he is doing his own thing on his own terms and is successful. He states that he is in no way trying to take Drake or Nicki Minaj fan base on..he has his own fanbase that is loyal and wont deal with what they are being force fed these days. When asked about the Native Tongues Crew he said their relationship was positive and brief, they were "dope cats" ad a variety to spice of life. Dres has a track with QTip, Dove, and Mike G. called "Birds of a Feather" on native tongues new album. He tips his hat to De La Soul and said he is in HIP HOP for all the right reasons..not for the bling-jewelry, girls, cars but for the LOVE!. Dres is considered adult contemporary hip hop. in his video for "Doin it right" he teaches his son how to hold the MIC.

Anthem an up and coming artist that left his job on wall street to take on the industry full time as a HIP HOP artist performed. He has a mix-tape with DJ Whookid (A Known DJ for G UNIT) with songs titled "reception" (his ode to the 90's), and "Looking down". Anthem always worked and went to school, and he always loved HIP HOP. He wants to make his parents proud. His mentor and financial backer is a man whom he worked with on Wall Street that he steadily confided in about his love for HIP HOP and dream of becoming an artist. Anthem wants to go the independent route the whole way. He was asked which one of the artists who performed was his biggest influence, he chose Naughty by Nature and quoted the OPP song!

NEXT!!

A special guest appearance by Jam Master Jay's Son (Jason) who calls him self "Jam Master Jay-Son" lol ( CLEVER isnt it?..yes this is too classic). He said he is currently filming a reality show called "Heir to the throne" being aired on one of the major networks he couldn't name LIVE, featuring him DJ'ing all over the city (NY THAT IS). When asked about his attire he said his father wore a hat with a bigger brim, then he was asked about why he wears laces with his Adidas to which he replied "ITS 2010" LOL!!!

Yesterday was an amazing day! Our very own NY Giants were having a photoshoot with AKOO Clothing in collaboration with Dr.Jays. We had D.Grant, C.Webster,K.Phillips,T.Thomas, A.Ross, A.Rolle, all starters. The photoshoot took place in the AKOO showroom in NY, we had stylists, photographers and The Daily News on hand. It was amazing to see the camaraderie between the guys, they actually all get along! The guys were so humble and took direction, they are truly professionals!
The after party was at Slate and who can say "no" to some Monday Night Football! The place was packed, with celebs, athletes and industry folks. Chili came in with El Debarge which was a little odd... I'm still confused about that one... In all it was a great day and those wings on our table didnt stand a chance!

November is Hip Hop History Month and I had the pleasure of attending an official Zulu Nation 37th Anniversary event at The Hip Hop Culture Center at Magic Johnson Theater in Harlem NYC.

My personal VIP invitation came from no other than Supreme Selo and Lord Yoda of Zulu themselves. The event was a peaceful unity among all that believe in what Zulu has to offer and Hip Hop in our society. We were accompanied by all our friends such as Afrika Bambaata, Black Spades, Gustapos, DJ Johnny Juice, Cheesecake RSC, BPS Productions, Straightman, Elijio Rivera "Jinx the tee shirt king", Ness, Pop Master Fabel, Ice T, Coco Chanel, Beenie Siegel, Big Daddy Kane, Immortal Technique, The Cold Crush Brothers, and so many more.

I got to catch a tag on a soon to be piece of memorabilia from the event..

I made myself useful for a while helping Jinx the Tee Shirt King with his vendor table and convinced a kid to buy the last shirt in a size small.. he changed on the spot proud to rep for the anniversary!

It was packed to the tee with vendors selling Zulu memorabilia, artwork, good food, hip hop gear, drinks etc. I had some rice and peas, mac and cheese and jerk chicken ..and umm a nutcracker SHHHHHHH ;)

I also got some shirts courtesy of Jinx the Tee Shirt King.. it was a great night!

A new liquor by Ice T was on display and came in all different types of bottles or containers shaped like everyday items such as a cane that easily slides open to reveal the drink, or a high heel shaped bottle..DOPENESS!!!!

Performances ensued thru the evening and I have photos to show coming up soon.. let's just say it was the illest lineup and if you missed it your probably under a rock! I wont get too crazy with details.. but I will say someone made a statement "You wont hear any of that young money-lil wayne or nicki minaj up in here .. this is TRUE HIP HOP!" and I lost it laughing to myself.. there are so many people who idolize Young Money lately and have no idea about Hip Hop History.. I appreciate the old and the new but I LOVE The true!!

OK so I know I missed you guys Wed on my usual post up day, and Thur due to work. Better late then never! I have been going through a bit of some family issues and haven't been focused much lately because of it! Despite the sorrow in family life, I have a little something for you guys to ponder.....

I was searching the net for some funny pictures editing something for "The Sweet Life" and came across a photo that in the posting was dead serious in selling and thought it was a hit!

I am alllllll about fashion and innovation, I am also for pushing the envelope and making trends, not following rules... but hmm this is just a whole other ball game to me!!!

Unless you're the costume designer for the animated comedy "Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs" Then you have no business even trying to put this out there!! I'm just saying! This isn't even stated as a costume but as a "Trend" ummmmmm *scratching head*...

For anyone who knows me knows I'm the first one to enjoy a nice piece of "Eye Candy" so I thought I would remind some ladies and introduce to you for those who may not know... Jason... remember him from BET's 2009 series "Harlem Heights" ?!!! For those of you who may not have had the opportunity to see the show, he was the Harlem native and single dad raising his adorable little girl all while starting his non-profit organization which reached out to kids who have parents who are incarcerated. Honestly... he was the only reason why I watched the show in the first place. If they showed more of him the show may have lasted another season... but anyway... I don't want his sexiness to go unrecognized or forgotten and believe me nothing is sexier than a fine man who handles his business and is doing good things for his community in the process!

New Nicki Minaj Feat Eminem "Roman's Revenge"

Nicki Minaj has an Alter ego "Roman Zolanski". She recently came out with the record "Roman's Revenge" featuring Eminem. She goes on to pitch wordplay that clearly shows her feelings toward the Queen Bee-Lil Kim. Now some would say that she completely tore Lil Kim down from the top of her pedestal while others couldn't read between the lines because it was before their time. Lil Kim has been in the game for years and Nicki Minaj's fan base consists of all ages but mainly young girls fantasizing the "Barbie idea" and those kids have no idea who Lil Kim is. I think Nicki is comparable to 50 Cent.. we may not always like what he says in his songs but he catches our attention and he is a marketing guru therefore commercial, gangsta, or heartfelt he is making it in the industry. Let Nicki do her, right now she is what the public is gravitating toward. Eventually someone new will come out and history will repeat itself with yet another talent who deserves a moment of fame that may or may not use publicity stunts like beef to get to where they need to go.

As I was on my lunch break this afternoon strolling down 40th Street, I walked past BCBG Max Azria and almost gave myself whip lash when I saw this dress in the window! The first thing that came to mind was that this dress would be perfect for New Years Eve when I go to Miami! But who am I kidding... I knew I wouldn't be able to afford the dress anyway but I decided to tease myself even more and just go into the store and look at it anyway. I just couldn't help myself!

Well since I'm apparently suffering from writers block, I think I'm just going to babble on about how much I need to just not be around any of my guy friends and chill with the girls!!! OH HOW MUCH I NEED IT!!! I haven't been like out...out.. in a while, if it hasn't been for work or last min thing, or whatever. Some of my close friends know that I deal with the case of "Singledom" I'm steering clear from a relationship right now due to the fact that I have no baggage, I am totally free and seem to meet lots of "23s" or fresh out of a relationship kinda guys! *Pause for major sigh* lol.... I just want drama free, light fun! Is that wrong? Since when have the tables turned and I seem to be going through the drama that most guys complain that girls bring to there life.....

Tuesday was amazing! Dollaz Unlimited and Crescendo Mgmt gave us such a diverse showcase of artists. Performing were Dan Godlin, Emanny Salgado, Vaughn Anthony and the lovely Olivia. The artisits performed in front of a large crowd, the venue was filled to capacity and drinks were flowing, thanks Ciroc! It was great to see such familiar faces in the crowd, the whole Bad Boy/Interscope Records were in the house and cant forget to mention our favorite, Angela Yee. Thanks to everyone who came out, we hope you truly enjoyed yourselves and a huge thank you to Urban Latinos very own Erica Lopez for coming out and supporting!

Wish I had a little more to talk about but I'm just at a loss for words this Wednesday. Due to some personal crap and the fact that I'm sick out of my mind I have writers block!! I started writing something and 2 paragraphs in I realized I hated it lol! I felt as though I was forcing it. Rather that I leave you with something that isn't close to what I'd approve of putting out there for you, I'll just leave this as something I'd rather you write for yourself. So how about I call this my 1st "Wordless Wednesday" here's a picture I took of a paper piece that a photographer that did my sisters headshots made! It’s something that caught my eye and I loved, and it’s just how I feel right now! Enjoy :)

Welcome Amar'e Stoudemire to NY @ Lucky Stikes

Last night was crazy in NYC! Amar'e had an event at Lucky Strikes to help his charity, the Amare Stoudemire Foundation. I arrived there with Amanda Diva first, had her walk the red carpet, photogs were going crazy...I still cant get used to those flashes, so bright! Walked into a cool, lowkey vibe, I was so happy to see different faces, corporate was definitely in the house. Olivia came in shortly after, had her walk the red carpet and I must say, she mastered those poses! Amar'e, Allan Houston,Tracey Morgan, football and basketball players,Danielle Staub (RHONJ), Stephanie Pratt (The Hills) and other celebrities hung out, played pool and even bowled in heels! With DJ MOS on the 1's and 2's it was hard not to have a good time! Overall it was a great night for a great cause. Welcome Amar'e!

DJ Commish / Manik Magazine

Our very own DJ Commish was asked to be part of a hiphop feature for Manik Magazine and yours truly was on hand for the behind the scenes! The shoot was in a Brooklyn brownstone apartment, call time was 1230...we got there about 1pm! DJ Commish was shooting the "Missy and Timbaland" section, an ode to HipHop. We had some great looks, thanks to RockSmith Tokyo and LaVie Clothing for giving us great options! DJ Commish is a natural in front of the camera, the biggest obstacle was getting him to part with his blackberry! He's addicted! After the shoot, they had a sitdown with Commish and asked some interesting questions, cant wait until the feature comes out! Gotham Magazine / Hennessy Artistry Event

I've been a bit busy lately, but quickly catching up. Want to tell you about one of the best nights I've had in a long time!
Gotham Magazine had its 10th Annual Gala last week at Capitale and what an amazing event it was! Amare Stoudemire , Mary J Blige, Ed Westwick, Jonathan Cheban (Spin Crowd), Amanda Diva and the lovely Olivia. Making sure my girls got on the carpet, interviews and meet and greets, then... on to the next.
Hip-Hop was alive again at the Hennessy Artistry event held at Ciprianis Wall Street. So many artists came out for a memmorable concert, The Isley Brothers, Common, Mos Def, Eve, Mary J Blige, Erykah Badu and even Bobby Brown! After getting the job done on the carpet, I was able to enjoy and be a fan of true hip hop.
The night didnt end there... Olivia was hosting Director, Jessy Terrero's birthday party at Empire Room, and thats where it got a little crazy! Shout out to everyone who came out, Selita Ebanks, Shawn "Pecas" , Jessy and Uly T, DJ Clue, Treach and Vinnie from Naughty by Nature and DJ Envy.
Got home at 6am and was back in the city by 9am... ah... the good life.

Now, please note, Ive had a longstanding love affair with Jennifer Lopez since day 1, so I might be a little bias... Almost 10 years later, I must say... she still looks amazing!!! Jennifer and her twins, Max and Emme are the new faces of Gucci's Children Collection. Who knew Marc Anthony would make such beautiful children?! LOL! I kid, I kid...

I feel like such a bad "friend"! How could I have missed my "friend in my head" birthday?! Kim turned 30 yesterday!!! So, word is Her real friend, Loren Ridenger (jewelry designer) threw her an amazing birthday party last night on her yacht in NYC. Everyone came out, including Cassie, Fabulous, Angie Martinez and Kanye West! Sounds like a good time... my invite must've gotten lost in cyberspace.... ah well... always next year.

I've come a long way from where I once was, as I was in a bad place, mentally, emotionally, career wise! I have had ups and downs. And am still pushing to make it! Ever since ULR and SLJE I have been happier then I have been in a long time! B4 this I was in a music group busting my ass, pushing for us to make and was carrying all the weight alone! I have been taken advantage of a whole lot in my life because I am what my close friends call me "Too Nice". Somehow it doesn't stop me from being good to people even when they aren't doing the same back!

I still have my moments that are less happy then others but over all I feel I'm in a good place. For some reason I can't let go of the over trying, over thinking, "Too Nice" person in me... I have thick skin, however should I be different? Should I be a lil bit meaner and take advantage of the people just like ones who have to me, with out one thought?

Have you ever asked yourself that b4? Are you too nice? I do have very few people in my life that are just as I am, maybe some that tougher, but they are good to me! Mentally I'm too helpful and unselfish of a person to be in this industry, but my heart wants what it wants. Not everyone is going to be great to everyone, but at least you might be lucky enough to find a few who see the same way you do! In the end, just be who you are no matter how much you may be pushed around! Keep your head up and know that Karma will take care of the rest!
